Another successful CeMat comes to an end

CeMat 2016 was held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from Tuesday 12th July – Thursday 14th July.

As always, trepidation revolves around these events; Will it be worthwhile? Will we meet some key decision makers? Will we stand out from the crowd? This year, we met our objectives and can say that CeMat 2016 was a great success.

There were months of planning involved in ensuring our stand stood out from the crowd, which can be challenging when you’re up against the big European companies. However, people still want to see Australian Companies in this space, there’s a fondness for us, like a familiar face you haven’t seen for a while.

CeMat for us was an opportunity to really launch our new name, let everyone know we are here and that we mean business. As a company, we have 60 years experience in Materials Handling and Intralogistics operations, Automation for us is a natural extension of what we already know, and we are already succeeding in this space with multiple successful installations.

One unit stood out from the crowd for us, and it was, as she is affectionately known, Bessie, our Rocla AGV Unit. Strong she stood, forks raised in a triumphant stance, letting all who entered Door 9 at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre know she was there. Although stationary, Bessie commanded the space and was the topic of many-a-conversation.

Our Daifuku Smart Cart was in continuous operation, quietly and methodically doing the job it had been programmed to do, also drawing a lot of attention and interest. Particular interest was shown in its smart magnetic technology allowing for quick, easy and flexible installation.

A hark to our history was demonstrated in a small custom-built Conveyor Stand, which demonstrated some of our key conveyor types, allowing visitors to touch and feel the components.

If you were lucky enough to visit us, you would have seen our Hot Lap – V8 Promotion, which, with the basic qualification of giving us your business card, gave you entry for a chance to win 4 Laps in a V8 around a racetrack. Our lucky winner was thrilled!

If you didn’t get a chance to visit us at CeMat, you missed out, but keep your eyes peeled in 2017, there may be another Trade Show just around the corner for us.
