Toyota 2018
Case Study
SYDNEY PARTS CENTRE
With a new parts warehouse in Sydney, Toyota engaged Custom Automation to design, manufacture and install customised Powered Roller Conveyors, Manual-Push Trolleys & Chaser Tow-Trolleys to manage their incoming and outgoing parts stillages and pallets.
Stillages and pallets varied in sizes with a maximum load capacity of 600kg.
The system included 5 different operation zones for the management of the stillages and pallets. This encompassed 40 Conveyor Lanes with a total of 146 Conveyor Modules, 30 Manual-Push Trolleys, and 22 Chaser Tow-Trolleys. All equipment had a restrictive ‘Floor to Top-of-Roller Height’ of 220mm.
Each Conveyor, Manual-Push Trolley and Chaser Tow-Trolley had primary and secondary locking mechanisms for transporting and operator safety. All mechanisms were required to be operated by linear actuators as the warehouse had no air supply.
Electrical Controls of the system were managed via the Master Control Panel to the Local Control Panels located at the 5 operation zones.
